The Central Government on Friday informed, Delta Plus variant of Covid-19 have been recorded across 11 states of India. those are Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Gujarat and Punjab, Jammu. Six hundred thousand-plus Americans have died with this delta variant.
What is Delta Plus Variant:
Delta Plus variant is a mutant version of B.1.617.2 strain, which was called Delta by the World Health Organisation (WHO). This mutant was 1st detected in Europe in the month of March 2021 and it has come to light on June 13. the experts are of the opinion that Delta Plus Variant has increased transmissibility.

Are vaccines not effective against this variant?
It’s too early to say. However, Union Health Ministry Secretary, Rajesh Bhushan, has stated that both Indian vaccines, Covishield as well as Covaxin are effective against the Delta Variant.
