Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will resume bus service from June 21 (Monday). BMTC had suspended the bus services on April 27 after Karnataka went into lockdown due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases. According to a statement released by BMTC, 2,000 buses will operate across major traffic routes in Bengaluru city. Vaccination is mandatory for all staff, said PRO, BMTC on Sunday.
Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) said it planned to operate about 3,000 buses initially from June 21. About 90 per cent of KSRTC staff have taken the first dose and the rest have been fully vaccinated. We will operate services based on the demand from passengers, said a KSRTC official.
Namma Metro during peak hours:
Namma Metro will operate services on Purple and Green Lines only during peak hours from Monday. Services will be available between 7am and 11am and 3pm and 6pm at a frequency of five minutes.
